Performance Artwork

Nix creates artwork which reflects their political views, frustrations, trauma and life experience. Nix is outspoken in standing up for the rights of people with PDA and other invisible disabilities, raising awareness is important to help the world shift into a more accepting place for all neurotypes.

Their art has also featured at the Healthwatch Essex events Expressions of Trauma multiple times during 2025 and they performed at their annual event at Hylands House. They've performed at Colchester venues including The Mercury Theatre, The Headgate Theatre, Castle Park, Curzon, Leaf and The Minories.

The PDA Play features artwork created by Nix which is on display as part of the set.

The PDA Play is a multimedia musical exploring life with Pathological Demand Avoidance, blending movement, parody, and audience interaction to raise awareness.

Background

Writing endless schemes of work for schools and working in inner London, Nix became an organiser and activist for Disability, Anti racist and LGBT+ in Education. Going on to become President of the National Union of Teachers and joint Equalities officer in Hackney with Richard Rieser (who co-wrote the Equalities act 2010 and is the founder of UKDHM).
